Amazon unveiled its latest addition to the Fire TV family, the Fire TV Stick 4K, in Lucknow on Tuesday. Priced at Rs 5,999, this new device, according to Amazon, is the most powerful streaming stick Amazon has launched in India.
Anish Unnikrishnan, General Manager for Amazon Devices India addressed the media and shared about the streaming device. Talking about the Fire TV stick, Unnikrishnan said that it's been a decade since the FireTV Stick was first launched in America by Amazon and and in the last few years, the device has found a market in India too.
“We now have consumers in 99 per cent of the pin codes in India who are using the device,” he commented.
Unnikrishnan, citing the streaming trends report, also said that in India, 78 per cent households now stream on smart devices. “74 per cent households consume family content, and 97 per cent streaming is done during dinner time,” he added.
The Fire TV Stick 4K supports fast-streaming for cinematic 4K content, offering vibrant Ultra HD picture quality along with Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and Dolby Atmos audio. These features aim to transform home viewing, providing a richer, more immersive experience. Installation is straightforward—customers can connect the device to the HDMI port of their existing TV and begin streaming their favourite content immediately.
Advanced Features for Enhanced Streaming
“The new Fire TV Stick 4K has been designed to offer advanced streaming experiences to our customers,” said Unnikrishnan. “Besides fast performance powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core processor, the new Fire TV Stick 4K offers access to over 12,000 apps across genres, voice search and content control through simple commands to Alexa, superior picture and audio quality, immersive graphics for games, and so much more.” Unnikrishnan noted that TV viewers in India average four hours of streaming daily on Fire TV.
The Fire TV Stick 4K is equipped with a 1.7 GHz quad-core processor, ensuring fast streaming and seamless navigation. It supports Wi-Fi 6 compatible routers and both 5GHz and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi bands, allowing users to stream content smoothly across varying internet frequencies.

Amazon has been making strides in reducing the carbon footprint of its Fire TV devices by using sustainable materials and designs that lower overall energy consumption. The new Fire TV Stick 4K features a low power mode, which conserves energy by putting the device to sleep or standby mode during inactivity.
