Nikon India has introduced the new Nikon Z f model to its mirrorless camera line-up in India. This launch ensures that Nikon has a mirrorless camera offering the new Expeed 7 image processor under INR 2 lakhs.
The Nikon Z f comes equipped with a full-frame sensor, and as mentioned above, the Expeed 7 image-processing engine which is at par with Nikon's flagship products, namely, the Nikon Z 9 and Z 8.
Features
The brand claims that the Z f is tailor-made for modern-day creators as it offers a great hybrid structure for creators to work with. On one hand, we have video capabilities of up to 4K at 60 fps and 1080p at 120 fps and on the other hand we have HEIF format ProRes photographs.
This is also a camera with a barrage of firsts for the camera manufacturer. The Nikon Z f is the first Nikon full-frame camera with a fully articulated LCD screen. It is the brand's first camera with face detection and magnification in manual mode. The camera has the lowest-light autofocus of any Nikon camera (-10EV with an f/1.2 aperture lens). It also happens to have the highest native ISO (60,000) among all the Nikon Z series mirrorless cameras.
Nikon has done wonders for handheld photographers as well. The Z f is CIPA-rated for 8-stops of stabilisation making it Nikon's best IBIS yet. For comparison, Sony's A7C has a 5.5-stop stabilisation. Nikon has also found a way to prioritise IBIS at the focus point, making handheld images sharper than before.
Sajjan Kumar, Managing Director, Nikon India gave his comments to BW Businessworld stating the upward trajectory of Nikon in the mirrorless camera space. “We are thrilled with the launch of Nikon Z f, our latest addition to the full-frame Z family that offers versatile and innovative hybrid features. The new Nikon Z f will become an extension of the creator community and will help them take their content a notch higher," added Kumar.
Nikon Z f also offers features like H.265/H.264 10-bit in-camera recording and N-Log/HLG recording support. With up to 125 minutes of 4K at 60 fps video recording, the Z f enables full-scale video recording with sufficient duration. In addition, it supports the recording of 4K UHD video using 6K oversampling.
Nikon India has been expanding its portfolio of Z mirrorless cameras and lenses. With the launch of Nikon Z f, Nikon India also unveiled the NIKKOR Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S, the newest S-Line super-telephoto prime lens in the NIKKOR Z S-Line series that is optimized to capture both stills and video. Additionally, the brand introduced the NIKKOR Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena, the latest compact body NIKKOR Z S-Line series lens capable of taking crisp and sharp images. The lens looks solid and has a sturdy build.
