Apart from the hotels, restaurants and cafes (HoReCa) business, there has been a recent trend uprising in the last few years that has been occupying a major chunk of the customers in the hospitality industry.
Resorts are preferred by youngsters who are fond of lavish staycations near their living cities and want to relax at the weekends. They are wholesome living spaces in tourist spots and on the outskirts of big cities that are a mix of hotels and also have restaurants inside, which is why they are often located in the outer areas of the cities.
Jayant Singh, Founder and MD, Treehouse shared insights regarding his resort business and how will India's upcoming festive season benefit the domestic business ecosystem.

How resort businesses are different from HoReCa (from readers’ perspective)?
Treehouse runs quality resorts at great value in India to cater to value-conscious domestic travellers. We cover key leisure destinations i.e., Goa, Jaipur, Chail etc. and are creating innovative products for this market such as “Treehouse Caravan Park, Neemrana”. We believe that the domestic market will continue to grow with the younger generation wanting to travel & explore, and demand for resort locations with unique experiences will also grow.
How resort business is after the pandemic when the hospitality industry is booming?
Resort business has significantly improved after the pandemic. The pent-up demand generated good occupancies for all resort locations across India. This trend of growth at leisure travel destinations is growing and we see the same at Treehouse hotels. Domestic Travellers continue to spend and explore new destinations and other leisure locations.
As the festive season is around the corner in India, what are your expectations?
We expect a strong festive season, not only do we see strong demand from individual travellers but also from corporate conferences and Weddings at the Treehouse hotels. We expect the holiday season to be strong for hotel demand.

What marketing strategies do you use to reach and attract potential guests, especially during the festive season?
We focus strongly on our digital strategy primarily marketing our offers on social media platforms. We use our CRM extensively to market our products through our emails to our existing customers and members. The focus is to reach our target audience through cross-selling with our large network of over 23 hotels across various destinations. As we grow, the Treehouse Hotels chain gives us an opportunity to open new market segments and acquire new customers through our development strategy.
