Xiaomi on Wednesday (26 July) launched its new smartphone Mi 5X in China with the company’s latest operating system MIUI 9. Priced at CNY 1,499 (roughly at Rs. 14,300) the smartphone is available in black, gold, and pink shades. Mi 5X is the smaller sibling of Xiaomi’s Mi 6 (read here) and also features the same dual camera on the back. Mi 5X will go on sale in China from August and might also come to Indian market soon.
Mi 5X runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. It has 32GB internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB through a hybrid dual-SIM configuration where second SIM is used as MicroSD card holder.
Mi 5X features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1920x1080) LTPS display. It sports a 12-MP+12-MP dual camera on the rear with dual tone LED flash. On the front is a 5-MP selfie-camera. The handset has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Mi 5X is backed by a 3080mAh battery non-removable battery. It measures 155.4x75.8x7.3mm and weighs 165 grams. Connectivity options are – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C, 3.5mm audio-jack, 4G VoLTE, and GPS.
