It’s been a while since a lot of brands came up with dual camera smartphones, now the leader of the budget smartphone segment Xiaomi has launched yet another device which will dominate the segment.
Xiaomi on Tuesday (5 September) launched its new smartphone Mi A1 in India. Priced at Rs 14,999, the smartphone will be available on Mi.com, Mi Home, and Flipkart from September 12; it will also be available through offline channels from the same day. The handset features dual cameras, big display, and full metal body. It is available in three body shades- black, gold and rose gold.
Launch offer includes 200GB of additional 4G data by Airtel on the purchase of Mi A1.
Mi A1 features a 5.5-inch FHD (1920x1080) LTPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass Protection. The handset is 7.3mm slim and weighs only 165 grams. Mi A1 is the new entrant is the Google’s Android One platform which delivers a pure Android experience to the users.
The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat is powered by a 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Octa-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM. It has 64GB internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB through a hybrid dual-SIM configuration.
Mi A1 sports 12-MP+12-MP dual camera setup where one works as Telephoto lens to click portrait photos and other as a wide-angle lens to click landscape photos. The rear cameras feature 2x optical zoom, 10x digital zoom, and LED flash. The dual camera setup in the A1 is quite similar to the iPhone 7 Plus. On the front is a 5-megapixels selfie shooter.
Mi A1 is backed by a 3080mAh battery and bears a fingerprint sensor at the back of the handset. Connectivity options include – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G VoLTE, 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C, IR Blaster, and GPS.
Xiaomi is releasing Mi A1 in 36 countries across Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East & Africa, and Americas.
Xiaomi entered the Indian market in 2014 and till now have sold more than 25 million smartphones.
