Rumors about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9 have been doing rounds on the internet for a long time now. Samsung recently sent out invites of an upcoming Galaxy unpacked event which will be held on August 9 in New York at 11 am E.T. (8:30 pm IST).
A news report from Eldar Murtazin reveals more about specifications and design of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Murtazin has claimed to spend some time at pre-production facility in the US to evaluate the hardware of Note 9.
Here are some of the specifications and features which the report mentioned
- Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is identical to its predecessor Galaxy Note 8 and one has to look twice to differentiate between the two. He revealed that this year’s Note 9 will still get a horizontally aligned dual rear camera, just with the fingerprint sensor below it
- According to Murtazin, the brightness of the display has been increased more. Though the curved Super AMOLED Infinity display is similar to previous Note 8, it still is one of the best display on any smartphone
- The Note 9 is said to have a larger 4,000mAh battery which is a big upgrade from previous Note 8’s 3,300mAh battery. However, the increase in battery capacity has also increased the handset’s weight a little bit. The battery is also said to last for up to two days after normal usage
- In the US and South Korea, Note 9 will be released with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor while the other markets will get their Note 9 with Samsung’s Exynos chipset
- It has also been revealed in the report that three RAM+Storage configurations of 6GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 8GB+512GB, with an option to expand the storage through MicroSD in all the models
- Talking about the camera, Note 9 will get the variable aperture support just like the Galaxy S9 and S9+. Now the camera also has improved optical image stabilisation
- Also, the S-Pen now gets Bluetooth support and new features for business users
Talking about the price, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 base model could cost around Rs 70,000 in India. He concluded that overall performance of Galaxy Note 9 is great but the handset is quite similar to the previous Galaxy Note 8.
