Motorola launched their new affordable smartphones Moto G6 and G6 Play in India today (4 June). When it comes to affordable phones, the Moto G series of Motorola smartphones have always been a popular choice among Indian buyers. The sixth-gen Moto G handsets were first launched in Brazil by the company earlier last month, now they have debuted in India.
The major highlights of the handsets are 18:9 ratio Max Vision displays, Snapdragon Octa-core processors, Turbopower fast charging, and stock Android 8.0.
Moto G6, G6 Play Price in India and Lauch Offers
Moto G6 Price in India is Rs 13,999 for 32GB and Rs 15,999 for 64GB, it will available starting midnight through Amazon and Moto Hubs across India. Moto G6 launch offers include No cost EMI for up to 9 months, extra Rs 1,000 off on exchange of any Moto phone, cashback of Rs 2,000 for prepaid customers from Airtel. Also, buyers purchasing Moto G6 through HDFC Bank debit & credit card will get an instant discount of Rs 1,250. The Moto G6 offers are valid up to June 6 only.
On the other hand, Moto G6 Play is priced at Rs 11,999, it will be available through Flipkart and Moto Hubs. Moto G6 Play launch offers include flat Rs 1,000 off with ICICI Bank debit & credit cards, extra Rs 1,500 off over regular exchange value, 25 percent discount on Rs 198 prepaid Jio plan.
At these prices, the sixth-gen Moto handsets will face competition with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Honor 7X, and Asus ZenFone Max Pro among others.
Moto G6 Specifications
Moto G6 is powered by a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor, 3GB/4GB RAM, and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo. It has 32/64GB of internal storage, expandable up to 256GB.
Talking about cameras, it features a dual camera setup at the rear which includes 12-megapixels+5-megapixels sensors with f/1.8 aperture and dual-LED flash. The rear camera is also capable of shooting 1080p videos at 60 fps, Timelapse video, and slow-motion videos. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with LED flash and beautification modes.
Unlike previous year’s metal body Moto G5, the company has gone with the glass body for Moto G6 this time. Moto G6 features a 5.7-inches FHD+ (2160x1080) IPS Max Vision display with 18:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The dual-SIM handset is backed by a 3,000mAh battery with TurboPower fast charging, which Motorola claims can provide hours of power in minutes of charging. The fingerprint sensor is still located below the display, which other than unlocking the phone could be used for navigation.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone-jack, and Location. It measures 153.8 x 72.3 x 8.3mm and weighs 167 grams.
Moto G6 Play Specifications
Moto G6 Play runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and powered by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM. It has 32GB of storage, which is expandable up to 128GB through a MicroSD card.
Talking about optics, it features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with LED flash and beautification modes.
Moto G6 Play features a 5.7-inches FHD+ (1440x720) IPS Max Vision display with 18:9 aspect ratio.
The dual-SIM handset is backed by a 4,000mAh battery with TurboPower fast charging, which the company claims can give 36 hours of backup. The fingerprint sensor is located below the rear camera with which users can unlock the phone.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, Micro USB 2.0, 3.5mm headphone-jack, and Location. It measures 155.4 x 72.2 x 9.1mm and weighs 180 grams.
