Taiwanese electronics giant Asus has refreshed its smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of two new handsets- Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M2), Max (M2). The Max Pro (M2) model is the successor to popular budget smartphone ZenFone Max Pro (M1), whereas the ZenFone Max (M2) is an upgrade to the ZenFone Max (M1).
Pricing, Launch Offers and Availability
The new Max Pro (M2) will be available in three RAM+Storage variants of 3GB+32GB, 4GB+64GB, and 6GB+64GB. Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M2) price in India starts from Rs 12,999 for 3GB RAM variant, Rs 14,999 for 4GB, and Rs 16,999 for 6GB variant. The model will be available in two colours- Blue and Titanium.
On the other hand, Max (M2) comes in two RAM+Storage variants of 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB with former priced at Rs 9,999 and latter at Rs 11,999. Max (M2) is available in Blue and Black colour options.
Both Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M2) and Max (M2) will be exclusively available on Flipkart with first sale starting from 18 December and 20 December, respectively.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M2) specifications
Max Pro (M2) features a 6.26-inches FHD (2280x1080) display with 19:9 aspect ratio. This handset also happens to be the first one in this price range in India to feature Corning Gorilla Glass 6 for scratch resistance.
The device’s operating system holds Android v8.1 (Oreo) currently which will be upgraded to Android Pie (v9.0) in January 2019. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor coupled with 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM. The handset has 32GB/64GB internal storage which is expandable up to 2TB via a MicroSD card.
The new Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M2) is backed by a massive 5,000mAh battery which Asus claims can deliver up to 35 days 4G standby and 45 hours 3G talk time.
The handset sports a dual camera setup at rear which includes 12-MP (Sony IMX486, f/1.8 aperture, 1.25µm pixel size, 6p lens) + 5-MP Dedicated Depth Sensor with EIS, 4K video Recording, LED Flash and AI Scene Detection.
For selfies, there is a 13-MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12µm pixel size and LED Flash. The company has also promised to deliver an update to bring EIS and Potrait Mode for the front camera. For security, the dual-SIM handset comes with rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and Face Unlock.
Connectivity options include- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm headphone-jack, Micro-USB port and Location.

Asus Zenfone Max (M2) runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 octa-core processor coupled with 3GB/4GB of RAM. The handset has 32GB/64GB internal storage which is expandable up to 2TB via a MicroSD card.
The new Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M2) is backed by a massive 4,000mAh battery which Asus claims can deliver up to 33 days 4G standby and Up to 35 hours 3G talk time. Max (M2) features a 6.26-inches FHD (1520x720) display with 19:9 aspect ratio.
It sports a dual camera setup at rear which includes 13-MP (F1.8 aperture, 1.12μm pixel size) + 2-MP Dedicated Depth Sensor with 4K video Recording, LED Flash and AI Scene Detection.
For selfies, there is a 8-MP camera with F2.0 aperture, 1.12µm pixel size and softlight LED Flash. For security, the dual-SIM handset comes with rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and Face Unlock.
For maximum audio it produces 5 magnet loudspeaker and NXP smart amplifier. Connectivity options include- WLAN 802.11 b/g/n; Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm headphone-jack, Micro-USB port and Location.
