Xiaomi’s latest entry level smartphone Redmi 5A is now available for buyers from today (7 December) 12 pm onwards. Redmi 5A will be available via Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Home across India. The phone comes in three colours- rose gold, gold, and black.
Redmi 5A comes in two RAM+Storage variants of 2GB+16GB and 3GB+32GB which are priced at Rs 4,999 and Rs 6,999. However the cost of 2GB RAM variant is Rs 5,999 but Xiaomi will sell its first five million units with a discount of Rs 1,000. Jio users will also get a cashback of Rs 1,000 after 12 months on the purchase of Xiaomi Redmi 5A.
Xiaomi Redmi 5A runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat and powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor coupled with 2GB/3GB RAM. It comes with 16GB/32GB internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB through a hybrid dual-SIM configuration.
The dual-SIM smartphone features a 5-inch HD (1280x720) display. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. On the front is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.
Redmi 5A is backed by a 3000mAh battery. Connectivity options are- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, micro-USB ports, Infrared, 3.5mm audio-jack, GPS. It measures 140.4 x 70.1 x 8.35mm and weighs 137 grams.
