If not in the current profession, you would be?
I am very passionate about what I am doing - enabling doctors to multiply their presence through Lybrate platform and trying to make a difference in the healthcare space in India. However, had I not been doing this, then probably I would have been a doctor.
One tune you always hum.
Linkin Park’s ‘In The End’.
One book to read when you want to motivate yourself.
Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson.
One dialogue of a movie that motivates you or you like the most.
It is the one from 3 idiots. “Excellence ka peecha karo, kamyabi jhak marke tumhare peeche aaegi”.
The place you never been to and always want to go.
Leh Ladakh. There is something about that place that I have to explore it.
An animal that signifies you & why?
It can’t be anything other than the active, energetic and fast ‘Chipmunk’.
A movie character you most resemble or resonate with.
Rancho from 3 Idiots.
Choose one from each below:
Marvel or DC- Marvel
Batman or Superman- Batman
Tom or Jerry- Jerry
Chacha Chaudhary or Super Commando Dhruv- Chacha Chaudhary
If your life was to be turned into a movie who would you like to play your part?
It would be Varun Dhawan.
Luck or Hard Work, what do you think weighs more in defining a successful person.
Undoubtedly, hard work.
One best decision you ever made.
To work with a startup, even when I had opportunities from big tech companies. Working with startups made me realize that while being there was a risky affair as against being with established corporate houses, the learning with startups had been incomparable. It was huge.
A strategy that you always use to take your decisions in personal or professional life.
When in doubt, leave it out.
Whose advise you seek when in dilemma?
My wife, Ruchika’s.
What has been your biggest achievement?
Definitely to start Lybrate. There was one thing I always felt very strongly about and that was healthcare, the condition of which was not very good in the country because of a shortage of doctors. While working with Snapdeal, I saw how technology had drastically changed the e-commerce landscape in India. I thought to replicate the experience and use technology in an innovative way to improve healthcare delivery in the country by multiplying presence of doctors.
One thing that you want to change in yourself.
If I could be a little less sarcastic.
A line said by your closed one that you never forget.
A senior had once told me “Believe in quality, not in quantity”. I found it so apt that I followed it at Lybrate too. The platform today has over 1.5 lakh doctors and we have launched lab service too. Contrary to that, we are just a small team of less than 200 people, handling very well the challenges that come across.
