Meta’s instant messaging application WhatsApp experienced an hours-long outage on Wednesday, disrupting services for thousands of users globally, with a significant impact on those in India, the United Kingdom and Brazil.
The problem got fixed right after an hour, which was notified by WhatsApp on the microblogging platform X.
Additionally, the outage was experienced by both WhatsApp and Instagram users in the United States with about 24,000 and 5,000 user complaints respectively.
Meanwhile, it has been reportedly found that about 1,000 Instagram users in the US are still experiencing the outage.
A similar outage was experienced with Apple's array of services, including the App Store, Apple TV+ and Apple Music, which left users across various regions frustrated as they encountered difficulties accessing these platforms.
The disruptions, which affected countries such as the United States, Britain, India, China and Australia, were first reported around 2213 GMT on Wednesday and persisted for over an hour, according to Apple's system status pages.
