Uttar Pradesh is set to host Semicon India 2024 from September 11 to 13 at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, marking a significant step in the state’s efforts to become a global Semiconductor hub. The event, to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the presence of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is expected to attract leading Semiconductor and electronics companies from around the world.
The UP government, with its goal of transforming Uttar Pradesh into a one trillion-dollar economy, is actively promoting its Semiconductor Policy 2024. Semicon India 2024 will serve as a platform to showcase the state’s sector-friendly policies and position UP as a leading player in the Semiconductor industry.
The event will feature 255 representatives from 17 countries, including major industry players from the United States, Japan, South Korea, and India. The Uttar Pradesh IT and Electronics Department and UP Electronics Corporation (UPLC) will showcase the state's sector-friendly policies in a 145-square-metre pavilion.
The event will run alongside Electronica India 2024 and Productronica India 2024, two of Southeast Asia’s largest electronics industry fairs. Promoting Investment and Industry Growth The Uttar Pradesh government, under CM Yogi Adityanath, has been actively working to draw investments in the Semiconductor sector. CM Yogi will participate in two one-on-one investor meetings during the event and inaugurate both the Work Force Pavilion and Development Pavilion. The government’s efforts align with the India Semiconductor Mission, which has already attracted major companies like AMD, Applied Materials, and Micron Technology.
A Global Event with High-Level Participation The event’s inauguration, scheduled for 11 AM on September 11, will be followed by a series of workshops and presentations on the Semiconductor ecosystem in India. The following days will feature sessions on topics like cross-regional partnerships, supply chain management, flexible hybrid electronics, and sustainability.
Micron will conduct a package manufacturing bootcamp, while the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) will present sessions on the journey of Semiconductors and Semiconductor fabrication.
Impact on UP's Semiconductor Journey Uttar Pradesh’s Semiconductor ambitions are closely tied to the Semicon India 2024 event, which aims to lay the groundwork for a robust Semiconductor ecosystem in the state. By promoting the Semiconductor Policy 2024, the Yogi government seeks to attract both domestic and international companies to invest in the state’s rapidly growing electronics and Semiconductor sectors.
With Semicon India 2024 being held just before the UP Trade Show 2024, the event is expected to significantly boost Brand UP on the global stage, positioning the state as a prime destination for Semiconductor investment and innovation.
