Twitter has appointed Vinay Prakash as Resident Grievance Officer for India. As per the information updated on Twitter's website, users can contact Prakash at ‘grievance-officer-in @ twitter.com’.
"Twitter can be contacted in India at the following address: 4th Floor, The Estate, 121 Dickenson Road, Bangalore 560 042," the page further noted.
Twitter was in constant flux for failing to comply with the new IT regulations in India. Under the new IT rules, social media companies with more than 50 lakh users are required to make three important appointments: Chief Compliance Officer, Nodal Officer and Grievance Officer. These three officers should be residents of India.
The company has also published its compliance report for 26 May 2021 to 25 June 2021. This is another requirement under the new IT rules that came into force on May 26. Earlier, Twitter had appointed Dharmendra Chatur as its Interim Resident Grievance Officer for India under IT regulations. Chatur had resigned last month. Twitter has about 1.75 crore users in India.
