Torrent Gas has announced a significant reduction in the price of domestic PNG and retail price of CNG.
The reduction in prices will be between Rs. 4 per SCM to Rs. 5 per SCM in the price of Domestic PNG and between Rs.6 per Kg to Rs. 8.25 per Kg in the retail price of CNG in its areas of operation across the country, effective from today evening.
This move will make CNG up to 47 per cent cheaper when compared to petrol and 31 per cent cheaper when compared to diesel. Similarly, domestic PNG will now be up to 28 per cent cheaper when compared to domestic LPG.
The GoI's decision to revise the domestic natural gas pricing guidelines and the consequent reduction in PNG and CNG prices will bring significant respite to millions of households and CNG vehicle owners.
The revised guidelines, which include the determination of a floor and cap in gas prices, strike a fine balance between the interests of gas producers, user sectors such as CGD, fertilizer and power sector and end consumers. Speaking on the development, Jinal Mehta, Director, Torrent Gas said, “We are grateful to the Hon’ble Prime Minister and the Government of India for approving the revised domestic natural gas pricing guidelines, thereby enabling us to significantly reduce the CNG and Domestic PNG prices for the benefit of millions of customers across the country."
The reduction in prices of CNG and PNG comes on the back of the Union Cabinet's landmark decision to revise the domestic natural gas pricing guidelines. The long-term roadmap provided under the revised guidelines will encourage large scale adoption of CNG and Domestic PNG across the country.
With this announcement, Torrent Gas aims to provide significant relief to millions of households and CNG vehicle owners, who will benefit from the reduced prices of CNG and domestic PNG. The revised gas pricing guidelines will help reduce the volatility in CNG and Domestic PNG prices in the country and encourage the use of eco-friendly and sustainable energy sources across India.
