Domestic passenger vehicle sales in the financial year ended on March 2016 registered a growth of 7.87 per cent, driven by new model launches and heavy discounts, according to Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). Though, the growth was mainly attributed by bigger players like Maruti, Hyundai and Mahindra and Mahindra, some carmakers who are unable to perform well in the domestic turf managed to keep the wheel turning for them by focusing more on exports. Three of the 5 most exported car in FY 2016 managed to perform very well in the export market.
