Many technology experts look to further their careers in the private sector by securing plush jobs with hefty pay packages. However, a few are brave enough to take the leap of faith and start from scratch. Alok Patil, the Chief Technology Officer of Toch.ai is one such individual. Armed with an MCA, Patil believes that the purpose of technology is to modernise human efforts and the world needs more technology-enabled solutions to overcome the larger problems faced by humanity today. After spending 11 years in the corporate world, he was excited to join hands with like-minded individuals to bring the concept of Toch.ai to life.
“In the year 2016, we were sitting on the brink of an undiscovered potential industry that had seen a mighty rise of video content. With human attention span and patience shrinking, there was a dire need to address the video trajectory in respect to real-time,” explains Patil. To bridge that gaping hole between unaddressed content and commerce, the potential was immense.
The result was in the form of a SaaS (software as a service) company deploying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning tech that offered an easy to use and accessible to all, cloud-agnostic platform to deliver customised video content in real-time, thereby birthing Toch.ai. The enthusiastic team helped mould the idea into a product that disrupted the video content industry. The platform has successfully raised funding of $11.75 million in its Series A round led by Moneta Ventures, Baring Private Equity India, Binny Bansal, Ventureast, and nine Unicorns.
“Our vision is to build tech that empowers creators and enriches content in the dynamic video-centric world. We are at the tip of an undiscovered iceberg when it comes to what AI is capable of. We also see ourselves building an immutable community that drives a profitable economy while creating newer standards for the tech environment,” Patil says.
