Ankiti Bose, recognised for her role in establishing the fashion e-commerce platform Zilingo, has made a notable comeback with a new venture. Terra Invest, her latest initiative, is a forward-thinking investment firm aiming to create a positive global impact by integrating financial and policy expertise.
Supported by a network of prominent Asian family offices and funds, Terra Invest has already achieved a portfolio of USD 230 million in closed transactions. The firm has ambitious plans to scale to USD 2.5 billion by 2025, focusing on investments in sectors such as clean energy, AI, and blockchain technology.
Terra Invest's strategy involves collaboration with stakeholders from academia, policy, regulation, governance, and finance, ensuring that investments are both financially viable and aligned with broader societal goals.
Joining Bose are industry leaders like Krishan Rattan, former Managing Director at Société Générale, who has managed transactions exceeding $13 billion at top-tier banks including Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, and Société Générale, and Ambassador Kirk Wagar, a former U.S. Ambassador to Singapore and a key figure in President Obama's campaign finance. Wagar brings extensive experience in public policy and business across the APAC and MENA regions.
Commenting on the firm's approach, Wagar stated, “In today's turbulent global political climate, having a geopolitical overview is crucial for global investing. Understanding the tectonic shifts in both macro and micro political changes is the foundation today to anticipate and navigate risks, understand market dynamics influenced by political events, and make informed decisions that are fundamental to protect and potentially enhance their portfolios. Today more than ever, investors must be aware of geopolitical trends in identifying opportunities and avoiding pitfalls, ensuring more resilient and strategic investment choices in an unpredictable world.”
Bose's journey with Zilingo, marked by remarkable growth and significant challenges, has informed her perspective on the importance of policy in driving innovation. Through Terra Invest, she aims to navigate the complex regulatory and geopolitical landscapes that often impede the adoption of new technologies.
Terra Invest is well-positioned to tap into the increasing demand for scalable, innovative solutions in key regions like the UK, India, and the Middle East, where vibrant tech ecosystems and emerging economies present lucrative investment opportunities.
Bose's return to the business arena with Terra Invest highlights her resilience and unwavering commitment to making a meaningful impact.
