Tecnia Group of Institutions organised its annual sports meet at Chhatrasal Stadium. The six-day (22-28 January) sports meet was dedicated to Divyangjan.
The main objective of this event was to promote sporting spirit among Divyang Students (Specially enabled students) and also to promote “Inclusive India campaign” of government of India.
The chief guest of the closing ceremony and prize distribution was Girish Sanghi, Chairman, All India Vaishya Federation, who appreciated the sporting spirit of Divyang students and winners of Olympic, Commonwealth, Asian Games Surendra Nada, Rajiv Tomar, Mahasingh Rao etc.
Ganga Prasad, Governor, Meghalaya were present at the event, appreciated the objective and the theme of the sports meet and the underlined that this kind of event is a noble initiative to strengthen the spirit of “Inclusive India”.
Tecnia Group Chairman Dr Ram Kailash Gupta said that this initiative is an attempt to facilitate the realization of equal opportunities, protection of human rights and full participation of Divyang Students (Students with intellectual and developmental disabilities) to bring them into the mainstream of Society.
He further said that Inclusive India Initiative is born out of the very need of creating awareness among public towards sporting spirit in themselves and also to make Divyang Students and people part and parcel of their day to day lives.
On this occasion, Dr Ajay Kumar (Director, Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies), Dr A. K. Srivastava, CEO (A & D), Tecnia Institute of Advanced Studies, faculty members and students all were present.
