ICFAI Law School, a constituent unit of The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, Hyderabad, signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two leading US Law Schools- William & Mary Law School and Widener University- Delaware Law School during the International Academic Leaders Meet held on 4th September, 2024 at the ICFAI Campus, Hyderabad. The MoU will explore mutually beneficial academic and research activities like Students exchange, Faculty Exchange and Joint Research Collaborations.
The MOUs on behalf of the two US Universities were signed by Prof Eileen Greena , Assistant Dean of Widener University- Delaware Law School and Prof Catherine E Stahl, Director, LLM Programs, William & Mary Law School .
International Academic Leaders from the reputed Law Schools like Texas A&M School of Law, University of New Hampshire -Franklin Pierce School of Law, William & Mary Law School, Widener University- Delaware Law School, Tilburg Law School, SOAS London and Georgetown Law participated in the event . The visiting international guests had an engaging session with the students and were impressed with their knowledge and curiosity to learn new things.
Dr.K.Hariharan , Associate Professor welcomed the guests and briefed about the ambitious plans of ICFAI Law School to be a globally renowned institution. Addressing the participants, Prof. L.S. Ganesh, Vice Chancellor, ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, emphasised the need for synergy between global and Indian Higher Educational Institutions, especially in the era of waning geo physical boundaries, with the advent of technology. He also highlighted the importance of the deep dive approach in building mutually beneficial associations, covering academics and research so that students as well as faculty members of both the intuitions are benefited.
Dr. P. Ravisekhararaju, Director of the ICFAI Law School highlighted that the collaboration with the reputed US Law Schools is a step towards internationalisation of Legal Education, thereby opening up a plethora of opportunities for all the academic stakeholders, which eventually will benefit the students’ community. Prof. Y.Pratap Reddy, Dean, Prof. Akbar Khan and other faculty members, students and guests participated in the event.
The ICFAI Law School is a significant segment of the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, Declared as a Deemed-to-be University established under section 3 of UGC Act, 1956. Established in the year 2010, the Law School has successfully completed a decade in professional teaching. It offers BBA LL.B (Hons) BA LL.B (Hons) five year integrated courses and two year LLM courses recognised by the Bar Council of India. It also offers PhD Program in Law and Certificate Programs.
