Survival Of The Fittest: AI And ML Will Obsolete Most Jobs In Future

Hoshie Ghaswalla, CEO, BW engage raised the point that a lot of new age technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) have captured the market. He further asked the panellist that will they sustain in the coming years and how can the students be ready to work with these technologies.

The panellists included Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur, Lalitya Vir Srivastava, Director, Asian Business School, Bharat Bhasker, Director, IIM Raipur, Monica Khanna, Director, KJ Soumaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research, Ramakrishnan Raman, Director, SIBM Pune. The panel discussion was moderated by Hoshie Ghaswalla, CEO - BW Engage.

“AI and ML have reached a new space in the industry where the whole workplace is getting better and it is not a hypothetical scenario”, said Mahadeo Jaiswal. 

Monica Khanna, another panellist said that the new technologies are just a layer on the traditional ones and they should be used intelligently by human beings in order to increase the productivity.

“Human element can’t go away and the technology is not a threat instead it is an enabler for a better and brighter future”, she added.

Ramakrishna Raman, however, threw light as to how the future of jobs is changing by pointing out three things that will do the same, ‘human to machine interaction, the smart process of auto machines and advanced analytics.'

Lalitya Vir Srivastava said that the need of the hour is to include courses like data analytics, digital marketing etc. in the curriculum of B-Schools. “A lot of technological change is happening and we need to take gradual steps towards its implementation," he added.
