A member of the founding family, Suneeta Reddy, managing director, joined the Apollo Hospitals Group in 1989. Spearheading the finance function, her financial acumen has been the key factor in the group's dramatic growth and profitability. Reddy now focuses on corporate strategy, corporate finance, funding and investments and will be leveraging mergers and acquisitions to achieve objectives of an accelerated pace of growth to optimize profitability.
Besides, she is a director on the board of Apollo Munich-Re Health Insurance Company. Reddy, a member of the Harvard Business School Medical Advisory Board & India Advisory Board (IAB), also serves on the boards of several Apollo Hospitals' group companies.
“The healthcare industry has played an important role in increasing life expectancy across the board, and in improving all WHO indicators such as the infant mortality rate in India. This has been done by people, who are committed to improving the life of every Indian. Women have always been great nurturers – their capacity to nurture is infinite – whether it be their patient, their family at home or their business. The success of women around the world is testimony to this,” says Reddy.
Reddy, who has opposed imposition of price regulations, was happy with the Union Budget this year. She stressed that by according national priority status to healthcare and adoption of universal health insurance will boost the healthcare delivery system in the country.
Recently, Google joined hands with Apollo Hospitals to come out with a new feature 'Symptom Search' aimed at providing better search operation and results to users seeking to know more about medical symptoms.
