Sun TV Network Q1 FY25 Results: Revenue Hits Rs 1,276 Crore, Interim Dividend Declared

Sun TV Network, one of India's television broadcasters, has disclosed its financial results for the first quarter of FY25, ending 30 June 2024. The company reported revenues of Rs 1,276.11 crore, a slight decrease from Rs 1,317.78 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The network's advertisement revenue for the quarter stood at Rs 323.77 crore, compared to Rs 339.10 crore in the same period last year. Domestic subscription revenue also saw a marginal decline, reaching Rs 425.79 crore, down from Rs 435.34 crore in Q1 FY24.

Sun TV's Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation (Ebitda) for the quarter was Rs 706.36 crore, as opposed to Rs 786.46 crore in the previous year's corresponding quarter. The Profit After Tax (Pat) for Q1 FY25 was Rs 546.94 crore, down from Rs 582.80 crore in the same quarter last year.

The company's board has declared a first interim dividend of Rs 5.00 per share (100 per cent) on a face value of Rs 5.00 per share.

Sun TV Network operates satellite television channels across seven languages—Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bangla, Marathi, and Hindi—and also manages FM radio stations across India. Additionally, the company owns the SunRisers Hyderabad cricket franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the SunRisers Eastern Cape in South Africa’s T20 league, and the digital OTT platform Sun NXT.

These results reflect the company's ongoing efforts to maintain its strong market presence despite slight declines in some revenue segments compared to the previous year.
