Sennheiser has unveiled the HD 620S headphones, the latest addition to its HD 600 range. This new addition is intended for customers looking for high-performance closed-back headphones that provide better sound quality and isolation for private listening.
The HD 620S has a custom-tuned 42mm dynamic transducer made in Sennheiser's Tullamore, Ireland plant. It keeps the HD 600 series' smooth sound while introducing a new profile with deep bass. The 150-ohm aluminium voice coil improves transients and instrument detail, making it ideal for high-fidelity audio and gaming.
The headphones are designed for comfort and durability, with a metal-reinforced headband and earcup housings. A steel plate manages internal reflections, while an angled baffle mimics open-back transducer behaviour, resulting in a wide soundstage. The closed-back design of the HD 620S provides more isolation than open-back models.
The HD 620S comes with a 1.8-meter detachable cable, a 3.5mm stereo socket and a 6.3mm converter. An optional balanced 4.4mm cable will be offered for use with a variety of hi-fi systems. The headphones have a storage pouch for protection and cable management.
Vijay Sharma, General Manager of Sennheiser's Consumer Business in India, stated that the HD 620S combines the 600 series' finest characteristics with improved isolation. "The HD 620S delivers on our promise of immersive imaging and brilliant impulse response," Sharma told Reuters. The HD 620S will be available starting from 12 August, 2024 for an introductory price of Rs 32,990.
