To strengthen its grip in the mid-range smartphone segment, Samsung is going to launch four new smartphones in India under the Galaxy A and Galaxy J series.
Samsung recently launched two new mid-range smartphones Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+, which are going to debut in India soon. The other two smartphones under the J-series could be Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6.
The India launch event for these handsets is slated for May 21, Samsung has started sending out launch invites of new smartphones which are touted to have Infinity display.
Talking about the price, the A-series duo could be priced between Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000. In European market, Galaxy A6 is priced at EUR 309 (roughly Rs 24,700) and A6+ at EUR 369 (roughly Rs 26,500).
As the J-series is an affordable one, the upcoming Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6 might be priced between Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 in India.
Samsung Galaxy A6, Galaxy A6+ Specifications
Both Samsung Galaxy A6 and A6+ run on Android 8.0 Oreo, the former is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 processor and the latter by an octa-core Snapdragon 450. Both handsets comes with two RAM+Storage configurations of 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB, the storage in both variants is expandable up to 256GB through a MicroSD card.
Talking about the display, A6 has a 5.6-inches HD+ (1480x720) Infinity display with 18.5:9 ratio. On the other hand, A6+ comes with a 6-inches FHD+ (2220x1080) Infinity display with 18.5:9 ratio.
Samsung Galaxy A6 and A6+ are backed by 3,000mAh and 3,500mAh batteries, respectively. These are not the only differences among the two handsets, they have different cameras too.
A6 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, PDAF, and LED flash; on the front it has a 16-megapixel selfie snapper with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash. The bigger A6+ features a dual camera setup at the rear with 16-megapixel+5-megapixel sensors, PDAF, and LED flash. On the front is has a 24-megapixel selfie camera with LED flash.
Both smartphones have rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and face-unlock feature. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, USB 2.0 Type-C, 3.5mm headphone-jack, NFC, and Location.
Samsung Galaxy J4, Samsung Galaxy J6 Specifications
According to a report, Galaxy J6 will feature a 5.6-inches HD+ (1480x720) Infinity display with 18.5:9 ratio. It will be powered by an Exynos 7870 Octa-core processor and a 3,000mAh battery. The handset could arrive in two RAM+Storage variants of 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB, with expandable storage. Talking about the optics, the upcoming smartphone could sport a 13-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera. The device is expected to run on Android 8.0 Oreo.
On the other hand, Galaxy J4 will come with a standard 5.5-inches HD display, Exynos 7570 Octa-core processor, 2GB/3GB RAM, 3,000mAh battery. Galaxy J4 is said to sport a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera.
