Motorola is one of the few brands that has gained a lot of attention in the smartwatch category with its round shaped Moto 360 smartwatch ever since it was announced last year. It was and is still the most popular smartwatch gaining more interest than the Apple Watch, plainly due to the fact that it works on both Android, as well as iOS. This year, the company has brought a new version which maintains the classy look as well as brings new variants to the table.
The new Moto 360 or the Moto 360 2nd-generation, is the upgrade to the original Moto 360 which now comes in two sizes, the same 46mm dial and a smaller 42mm version for men’s and a 42mm version for women with a narrower strap. The overall look is very similar to the last year’s model including a nice and clean round metal casing. There are minor visible changes including the hardware button moving slightly higher at an angle and an improved mechanism for attaching the straps thanks to the addition of lugs, like a traditional watch. There are also more customisation options available including a variety of straps. The watch feels very comfortable and just like any other watch. Moto is bringing five looks with a black and tan leather strap, two metal straps and a rose leather strap for the women’s version.
Motorola claims that the new Moto 360 is faster and also offers an all-day battery life, something which the first gen struggled with. The insides have also been updated as the watch now rocks a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and a larger 400mAH battery on the 46mm version. Of course the watch is water resistant and includes features like wireless charging, a heart rate sensor and a variety of sensors.
Now the pricing is slightly higher with the starting price going at Rs 19,999 for the 42mm leather variants which goes further to Rs 23,999 for the metal variants. Compared to last year, the price is bit higher but is still way better than LG’s Watch Urbane and not to mention the Apple Watch which starts at Rs. 32,000. All the versions of the new Moto 360 will be available from tonight on Flipkart and Myntra.
