German carmaker Mercedes-Benz launched a new A-class hatchback on Tuesday (December 08) with a price tag of Rs 24.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the petrol variant (A 180 Sport) and Rs 25.95 lakh for the diesel model (A 200d Sport) (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
This is the 15th and the final car launched by Mercedes for the year 2015.
Roland Folger, managing director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, "The A-Class has been instrumental in making Mercedes-Benz brand more youthful. We are confident that the new A-Class will continue to remain on top of customers' preference".
The new Mercedes A-Class has received significant changes, both outside and inside. Under the hood, the A-class is expected to continue with the same petrol and diesel engines. Powering the 2016 Mercedes A-Class A180 petrol is a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder turbo engine that is good for 120bhp and 200Nm. The A200D diesel variant, on the other hand, features a 2.1-litre, four-cylinder engine that churns out a maximum power output of 136bhp and a peak torque of 300Nm.
First publicly displayed at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class, feature an array of improved style cues when we talk about looks. In terms of design upgrades, the front fascia of the new 2015 A-Class comes with a revised air dam and a pair of new head lamps along with optional LED DRLs.
Recently, the company has announced that the ex-showroom price of its entire portfolio of vehicles will increase by up to 2 per cent from January 2016 owing to rise in input cost.
