On the Media Educator Summit, held on 22nd November, journalists talked about the “F” in the media industry today. Pankaj Pachauri - Editor-in-Chief and founder of GoNews24x7 expressed his views on the ongoing media scenario and how the media industry has failed in doing what they ought to do.
"The big ‘F’ is fake today. We have singularly failed to showcase what the media should be doing because we are not fast enough, we are not keeping up with the technology", he said.
"India's corporate houses have not invested in the media institutions and media funds are just clash of interests", he added.
He further stressed that the media education industry needs to reinvent, students need to be updated and upgraded with the new technologies along with knowledge of history and background of journalism.
"One should know basic ethical background of journalism to be a good journalist. If you want to be rich and famous don't enter the media field, news should be love", Mr. Pachauri said.
He explained that one should stick to their guns and not let others waver over them in order to be successful. He further said on the ending note, "News is living, surviving and it will thrive".
