Infosys Unveils New AI-powered Experiences At French Open 2023
IT major Infosys has joined forces with the French Tennis Federation (FFT) to launch an array of technologies aimed at transforming fan engagement and enhancing the game of tennis at the iconic French Open 2023.
Through the utilisation of cutting-edge advancements such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), mixed reality and data analytics, the initiatives promise to deliver an immersive and interactive experience for fans while empowering players, coaches, media professionals, tournament organisers, and the wider tennis community.
One of the standout innovations is the Infosys x Wilson Smash Corner, located at Roland Garros. Using mixed reality (XR) and AI-enabled motion analysis, fans can now measure and practice their serving skills just like the professionals. With the help of high-tech cameras, Infosys’ tech will record and superimpose individuals' serves onto the prestigious Court Philippe-Chatrier, providing an authentic experience as if they were serving on the main court. Participants will receive personalised serve analysis and feedback on their technique and posture, bringing pro-level analysis to every fan.
Infosys will also build upon the existing Match Center features while powering the RG Fantasy Game, further enhancing fan engagement. Additionally, the Infosys Tennis Virtual Reality Experience will place fans at the center of a virtual game, enabling them to take part in matches against the best players in the world.
For media professionals, Infosys has introduced an AI-powered Excitement Rating tool, enhancing the AI-Assisted Journalism tool. This insightful feature tracks multiple factors, including match length and crowd noise, to gauge the levels of excitement and tension during games. Journalists can now accurately convey the pulse of the tournament to fans worldwide, creating a more engaging and immersive experience.
Meanwhile, players are expected to benefit from an AI-powered performance tool that includes advanced match strategy features. These innovations analyse players' serving and return tendencies, providing accurate correlations between reactive tendencies and win rates. Another notable addition is the "Get in the zone" feature, which leverages AI to curate custom video playlists showcasing winning trends against specific opponents, empowering players with valuable insights before matches.
