A new study has found that Indian midmarket businesses are outpacing global peers in prioritising generative artificial intelligence (GenAI).
The study, which surveyed 12,003 businesses worldwide—including 800 from India—revealed that 96 per cent of Indian organisations with between 250 and 1,500 employees are prioritising the implementation of GenAI. This figure is above the global average of 91 per cent.
The SAP research mentioned that Indian businesses are viewing AI as a transformative tool to boost operational efficiency, improve decision-making, and enhance customer experiences.
According to the study, 49 per cent of Indian midmarket businesses are already using AI for forecasting and budgeting, ahead of the global figure of 40 per cent. Similarly, 48 per cent of Indian companies are using AI to develop marketing and sales content, compared to 41 per cent globally.
"India's midmarket businesses are the backbone of the nation’s economy. AI is a game-changer for these companies, offering agility, actionable insights, and helping them thrive in a digital economy," said Manish Prasad, President, and Managing Director of SAP Indian Subcontinent.
