On the company’s relevance a decade from now: I strongly believe that enterprise communication will go through a sea change in the next 10 years. Flock is a real-time communication and collaboration app for modern teams. We started in 2014, and today we have 70,000 weekly active users. Our aim is to make Flock a primary driver for organisational efficiency, to help reduce costs for companies across the globe.
On the future of the business: Workplaces across the globe are headed towards a more modern culture. People want to stay connected on-the-go and be notified in order to not miss a thing. The traditional tools of communication are not the ideal solution for time-sensitive issues, as important information tends to slip through the cracks. This is where business messaging apps such as Flock provide the perfect solution. They are equipped with powerful features, enabling synchronous communication.
On the importance of AI and blockchain to the business: I am personally quite excited about the advent of artificial intelligence, followed by augmented reality, considering all of their potential applications. In the coming few years, it would be really interesting to watch the ways in which our apps will speak both, on our behalf and with us, with the help of AI.
On direct and indirect wealth creation: If you are able to provide value to the consumer, success and profitability will follow. The mantra is to focus on creating value rather than on valuation. Profitability is a side effect; it will happen if you create value and build a relevant product. The market — currently catering to just 6-7 million users — has the potential to reach 600-700 million users in the next seven to eight years. This space looks highly attractive to us.
On employment opportunities: We offer a technology that simplifies the workplace communications and makes organisations more productive and efficient. Hence, our offerings have no bearing on the hiring plans of organisations.
