Renowned computer scientist Andrej Karpathy has announced the launch of Eureka Labs, a cutting-edge education platform that integrates artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance digital learning.
This venture will leverage Karpathy’s extensive experience from his time at OpenAI and Tesla, aiming to revolutionise the way educational content is created and consumed.
Eureka Labs will tap into the field of generative AI, a trend that has gained significant traction since the release of ChatGPT in late 2022. The platform will reportedly allow teachers to design courses with the assistance of an AI teaching assistant, which helps guide students through the learning material.
The company’s inaugural product, LLM101n, is an undergraduate-level course that enables students to train their own AI models, offering a practical, hands-on learning experience.
Karpathy’s journey in the tech industry began as a founding member of OpenAI in 2015. Two years later, he joined Tesla to lead the autopilot division, where he developed advanced driver assistance software.
Eureka Labs represents the culmination of Karpathy’s nearly two-decade-long passion for AI and education. With a PhD from Stanford University, Karpathy has also shared his expertise through online tutorial videos on topics ranging from solving Rubik’s cubes to explaining complex AI concepts.
