Escorts Presents India’s Maiden Electric & Hydrostatic Tractor Concepts
Escorts Ltd, a leading homegrown engineering conglomerate, has unveiled the country’s first electric & hydrostatic tractor concepts apart from expanding its global product portfolio. While the mechanical compact tractor will go on sale in India in the first quarter of 2018, the production version of the hydrostatic concept will be available during the second quarter of 2018. The production version of the e-tractor concept, will however, be rolled out once the market evolves.
Rajan Nanda, Chairman, Escorts Ltd., said, “Today’s product showcase is a preview of the technical and qualitative development keeping the dynamics and demand of today’s progressive farmers. We are spreading our operations to reach countries globally and will develop products mapped to the requirements of the customers and market.”
The Faridabad-based firm has developed a broader portfolio of tractors ranging from 22-90 HP tractors under Farmtrac and Powertrac brands for varied markets such as the United States, Europe, Latin America, Africa and ASEAN apart from India. This includes the New Escorts Tractor Series (NETS) with a higher horse power (70 to 90 HP), Compact tractors in 22-30 HP range, Crossover tractors for both paddy and haulage applications, tractors with cabin options for driving comfort, along with Tier-IV emission norms compliant CRDi engines. The company has invested around Rs. 30 crore in the development of these product lines
