Billionaire Elon Musk said his automotive company Tesla is making special efforts to retain its engineers and AI talents, as over the past few years the car-making organisation has witnessed the exit of a significant workforce.
Musk in his X post, he pointed towards talent poaching which has been evolving with the growing influence of AI globally. He said at Tesla, engineers' compensation has been increased as a part of retention plan. However, the remuneration is based on their performance.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Musk's startup company xAI has poached about four engineers from his car making organisation Tesla. The X owner described it as the wildest talent war he has ever seen.
The departure of employees from Musk's company to his latest venture could heighten worries about conflicts and governance in the billionaire's business realm.
In January, Musk stated that if he does not receive about 25 per cent voting power at Tesla, he will rather focus on creating AI and robotics technologies elsewhere.
Musk established xAI in July in 2023, after indicating his intention to develop a rival to the widely used ChatGPT for months. He was instrumental in founding OpenAI, the company behind the chatbot, but had a falling out with other executives at the company.
