Creating Well-rounded Managers

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK), set up in 1997, boasts of a picturesque campus atop twin hills. Equipped with a highly qualified and experienced faculty, the institute offers a very wide range of academic and executive programmes in management education and has consistently brought notable innovations to the design and delivery of its programmes. 

The IIMK has been awarded the Association of MBA (AMBA) accreditation and is mentoring the 15th IIM being set up in India. The institute offers a Post Graduate Programme (PGP), a Post Graduate Programme in Business Leadership (PGP-BL), an Executive PGP - Interactive Learning Mode; a Fellow Programme in Management (FPM); a PhD Programme in Management; an Executive Post Graduate Programme; a Management Development Programme (MDP) and a Faculty Development Programme (FDP). The IIMK pioneered the Executive PGP - Interactive Learning Mode for working executives, which is the most rigorous programme available in the country, with around 738 class contact hours. The institute focuses on problem-solving and analytical skills, which are honed through case studies.

The IIMK offers student exchange programmes with the European Business School, Germany; Copenhagen Business School, ESCP-EAP Paris; Bocconi University, Leipzig Graduate School of Management, Leeds University Business School, BEM - Bordeaux Management School, IESEG School of Management and Rouen Business School among others.

The IIMK created history by opening the first museum of Indian business history that aims to inspire and ignite business entrepreneurship among the youth. In 2016 the institute inaugurated the ISRO’s ‘India in Space’ gallery at the Indian Business Museum.  It also received Rs 3 crore in a grant from the Department of Science and Technology to set up a business incubator under the Start-up India Plan. The IIMK is backed by many committed adjuncts and visiting faculty from both industry and other leading business schools around the world. It has a strong International Exchange Programme for students and faculty, with several leading business schools in the EU and ASEAN countries. 

It takes pride in being among the few Centres for Development of Digital Libraries in the world. The IIM Kozhikode has a fully automated Library and Information Centre (LIC). The institute has an Incubation Centre for Excellence, set up in collaboration with the state government of Kerala, to help scheduled castes and scheduled tribes students overcome deficiencies in communication and personality etc. It is among the management institutes in the country that regularly fill up their SC and ST quotas for postgraduate programmes and have a soundtrack record in job placement.

The IIMK is known for its global exposure and for being sensitive to critical aspects of leadership. It strives for the holistic development of young professionals and strives to create well-rounded managers with strong leadership potential.
