The Tamil Nadu Congress, the State arm of the Indian Youth Congress, and members of NSUI have decided to boycott the official opening of the 44th Chess Olympiad, which will be presided over by the Prime Minister in Chennai's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. In a letter, Srimaan Ramachandra Raja, the chairman of the Tamil Nadu NSUI, stated that his party members will not be attending the 44th Chess Olympiad's opening ceremony, which is set to take place in Chennai on Thursday, July 28. Praising the MK Stalin government in Tamil Nadu, Srimaan said that the state government has set aside a fund of Rs. 100 crores for the Chess Olympiad and is working quickly to implement it. "From food to lodging, our Chief Minister (MK Stalin) has been closely observing everything and issuing the proper instructions to the officials to make sure there isn't even the slightest flaw. The Chief Minister's personal visit to the Nehru Sports Stadium, where the event is still held today, and his advice are both highly noteworthy," Tamil Nadu NSUI Chairman said in his letter on July 27.
