Collective Action To Build Much Needed Social Capital In India: ISS 2017
Organised by Centre for Responsible Business (CRB), a centre of excellence, ISS 2017, in its 4th edition, will try to make sustainable practices in Indian business more adaptive and friendly in more than 30 sessions till November 17, including management of forest resources as per global standards, responsible business practices in agro sector, labour issues and standards in the global value chain, state of standards globally and its implication on India, Use of Information Technology Voluntary Consensus Standards for further Sustainable Development, Private sector engagement on Food security and Nutrition in India, Human rights in business policy and many more.

As much as 600 delegates will participate in 30 thematic/sectoral dialogues over three days. The event offers an occasion to dialogue on challenges and opportunities presented by international and Indian Sustainability Standards and Collaborative Sustainability Initiatives, in supporting business and policy contributions towards positive social, economic and environmental impacts in India and beyond.

There is consensus across stakeholders that sustainability challenges are multi-dimensional and cannot be addressed through a unidirectional approach - thereby calling multiple stakeholders and institutions to address such challenges through a concerted and collaborative process. However, collaboration and cooperation on sustainability issues involving key actors from across the spectrum don't happen automatically - and needs to be facilitated and nurtured. The ISS offers the opportunity and the context for such collaborative processes.
