Chhattisgarh, which is known for its business-friendly ambiance, is now ready to have all its initiatives for promoting start-ups under the banner of "Start-up Chhattisgarh".
The state government said it has initiated various activities to encourage innovation and entrepreneurial spirit in the state.
To integrate its initiatives towards promotion of start-ups in Chhattisgarh, the state government is launching "Startup Chhattisgarh" September 13 at Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Professional Management and Technology, Raipur.
Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh will launch 'Startup Chhattisgarh' in the presence of Industry Minister Amar Agrawal.
The state government would launch its action plan for promoting start-ups in Chhattisgarh and announce for boot camps covering all 27 districts of the state.
The boot camp would be a statewide campaign to identify potential start-up ideas which can be incubated and turned into successful business ideas.
"This event on September 13 would be an apt platform for budding entrepreneurs, students and our aspirant youths to interact with successful start-ups of Chhattisgarh. Successful start-ups would also put a small exhibition during the event to explain about their idea and their journey from ideation to implementation. This event would definitely satisfy the hunger for basic information about start-up ecosystem of our aspirant youths and would ignite their supressed urge to be an entrepreneur," according to a statement.
The initiative strengthens Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Start-up India which aims at fostering entrepreneurship and promoting innovation by creating an ecosystem that is conducive for growth of startups.
Recognizing that the new Startup wave is a major job creator and the agent of change for prosperity, Chhattisgarh is promoting new ideas to become established ventures by developing a conductive Startup ecosystem.
This would be done by coupling various policy initiatives available with various departments of state and central government like DIPP Startup India, Innovation Policy of Chhattisgarh, Food Processing Policy, EODB initiatives of Department of Commerce and Industries.
In addition to these existing policy initiatives, Chhattisgarh is planning to create innovation infrastructure across all the districts so that ideas can emerge into life changing products and services.
The government also aims to develop startup companies which are much closer to the local environment.
Preference will be given to startup in priority sectors, healthcare, animal husbandry and value addition.
