Decentralised applications (dApps), smart contracts, and the emergence of the Metaverse, which facilitate better data ownership and control, enhanced security, and higher user autonomy, are what sets it apart.
To honour and acknowledge the industry leaders navigating the domain of blockchain and Web 3, BW Businessworld hosted its first edition of ‘BW Web 3.0 Summit & Awards’. In a two-day summit held on July 19th and 20th, 2023, the event highlighted the transformative potential of Web 3 as a technology that benefits both customers as well as businesses. It also catered to how currency influences real-world assets and how immersive tech drives next-gen consumer-facing brands.

The Screening Process
The Web 3.0, 2023 Awards and Summit received an overwhelming response with over 86 entries. After a rigorous multi-tier screening process, 35 nominees were selected and invited to present their projects before a distinguished jury panel. The evaluation criteria encompassed crucial aspects such as key initiatives and milestones, overall impact, resource utilization, and quantitative performance. Moreover, the assessment also took into account the uniqueness of their monetization models, funding status, and the clarity of their strategic vision.
Celebrating Winners
20 companies were honoured for their significant contributions to the country's financial landscape through Web 3.0 technology. The awards were divided into two sub-categories namely ‘organisational awards’ and ‘individual awards.’
In the organisational awards category, CredShields, Push Protocol, and Rooba.finance won the gold, silver, and bronze for the Web 3.0 Innovation Award; Information Data Systems Inc., JediSwap, and DRIFE Technologies Pvt Ltd secured the gold, silver, and bronze for the Decentralisation Pioneer Award; Aaquarians.ai won the Social Impact Award, while Information Data Systems Inc. was recognised with the Open Source Champion Award; HashCase received the gold for Best Adoption Strategy, while StackOS took home the silver; Vossle won the gold for Most Promising Web 3.0 Startup, with Push Protocol and StackOS winning silver and bronze; Davos Protocol, Mudrex, and Giottus Technologies Pvt. Ltd. were awarded gold, silver, and bronze respectively for the Most Trusted Crypto Investment/Exchange Platform and Fanztar was honoured with the Best Web 3.0 Community Engagement award.
In the individual award category, Rajesh Dhuddu, SVP & Global Business Head- Emerging Technology at TechMahindra, received the gold for Most Inspirational Web 3.0 Leader. Richa Joshi and Harsh Rajat, Co-Founders of Push Protocol, secured the silver and bronze respectively in the same category. Sathvik Vishawanath, Co-Founder & CEO of Unocoin Technologies Private Limited, won the gold for Most Promising Web 3.0 Entrepreneur, while Vishnu Korde, Founder & CEO of StackOS, and Edul Patel, Co-Founder & CEO of Mudrex, earned the silver and bronze awards. For the Web 3.0 Innovator of the Year, Prafula Mathur, Co-founder of Vossle, received the gold, Harsh Rajat of Push Protocol secured the silver, and Varun Satyam, Co-Founder & CEO of Davos Protocol, won the bronze. Taaha Nizam, Founder & CEO of HashCase, was recognized as the Blockchain Developer of the Year, and Himanshu Garg, Founder & CEO of Fanztar, earned the Best Web 3.0 Community Leader award.
