Bandhan Bank Completes Core Banking System Digital Migration

Bandhan Bank announced on 3 October that it has successfully completed the migration of its core banking system and internet banking to a new platform, as stated in an exchange notification.

This achievement is notable in a context where several banks have faced technical challenges in their digital and tech-based banking services. Additionally, issues have arisen with the digital mobile applications of various other banks.

For instance, HDFC Bank, the largest private sector lender in the country, encountered problems with its digital and web banking services in February 2023. Similarly, ICICI Bank, another private sector bank, experienced a tech outage in May 2023.

Furthermore, customers of HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, Bank of Baroda and IDFC First Bank, who participated in the retail digital rupee pilot, have reported encountering technical difficulties and problems while making payments.
