Dassault Systèmes said that Axldrone, an India-based manufacturer of micro to medium-sized drones, has significantly optimised its design and production processes by adopting the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. By utilising the platform, Axldrone has cut manufacturing costs by 50 per cent, reduced development costs by up to 30 per cent and shortened design cycles by 30 per cent, accelerating its time to market by 20 per cent.
Axldrone, specialising in drones for industries such as agriculture, surveillance, law enforcement and cinematography, was facing challenges in developing and marketing unmanned drones quickly and cost-effectively.
The integration of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, including the 3DEXPERIENCE Works portfolio for SOLIDWORKS users, has helped the company formalise its data management and product development processes. This move has led to improved product quality and reduced design errors.
“With the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, we can now manage the entire product lifecycle collaboratively and efficiently,” said Iyvin Lukose, CTO of Axldrone. “This solution brings together our most critical resources—people, software, and data—in one secure, cloud-based environment.”
By leveraging applications such as SOLIDWORKS for design, SIMULIA for simulation, and fitment capabilities, Axldrone has also reduced the need for physical prototyping and rework, minimising waste and lowering production costs.
“Axldrone's adoption of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform highlights its commitment to delivering cutting-edge drones for sectors such as surveillance, law enforcement, and relief operations,” said Deepak NG, Managing Director, Dassault Systèmes India. “This collaboration underscores how cloud-based solutions can drive innovation and efficiency in aerospace manufacturing.”
This strategic partnership positions Axldrone to meet growing demand across various industries while maintaining cost efficiency and accelerating innovation in drone technology.
