Godrej Nature's Basket, the retail chain of the Godrej Group, is currently at an interesting inflection point and is in the process of redefining itself. This is because its MD Avani Davda has revealed the 'GNB Refresh 2020' vision, where the brand will undergo a strategic transformation to grow its revenues multifold, to reach Rs. 1,000 crore by 2020. The former CEO of Tata Starbucks is known to be a results driven, self-motivated and resourceful leader with a sharp focus on sustained growth and profitability.
"There certain principles that I have always believed in are discipline and transparency, which have always worked in the success and growth of the business. Our vision, as part of the transformation strategy called Refresh 2020 is to turn Nature's Basket from an occasional destination to a neighbourhood store and be the go-to place of our customer's Daily Food Delights. We have outlined a clear roadmap for the business to become India's freshest and finest neighborhood store and achieve its target of 3x growth by FY20," revealed Avani Davda, in response to a query sent by BW Businessworld.
It is to be mentioned that Godrej Natures Basket has five brands under its umbrella i.e. Desi Nature, Get Nature's Best, World Chef, L'Exclusif and Healthy Alternatives.
Avani holds a Masters degree in Management Studies from NMIMS and a Bachelors degree in Commerce with Honors (Advertising & Media) from H.R. College, University of Mumbai. In her previous stint, she has also played a prominent role in aggressive expansion of over 80 Starbucks stores across six key metros of India within a short span of three years. Avani was nominated as a Young Global Leader in 2014 by the World Economic Forum and was also featured in Fortune's annual global list of "40 under 40 leaders" in 2013 and Fortune and Food & Wine's list of "25 Most Innovative Women in Food and Drink" in 2014 - the only Indian woman on the list.
