German luxury car manufacturer Audi has opened its showroom in Rajkot as a part of its strategy to capture the growing market of in tier-II cities. This is the fourth Audi showroom in Gujarat.
“Gujarat has tremendous growth potential and the aspirations of people from the state are really high. The addition of Audi Rajkot strengthens our presence in the state with Audi dealerships already present in Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat,” said Joe King, head of Audi India.”
The entire Audi India model range will be showcased in this showroom.
It is anticipated a strong move by Audi to counter the growing expansion of its arch rival Mercedes in upcoming urban hubs. Mercedes India has been opening showrooms in Tier-II cities, the latest one being Nagpur in Maharashtra.
Located on NH 8B, Ahmedabad Highway, Audi Rajkot covers 100,000 square feet and has a capacity to accommodate 8 cars.

Audi, which became the first company to sell 10,000 units in a calendar year is trailing behind its Mercedes in the current. Mercedes on the other hand has crossed 10,000 mark in the first 9 months of the year 2015.
