As Recession Fears Loom, Knorish Creates New Monetization Opportunities For Creators, Coaches and Influencers

Whether the recession finally hits as bad as 2008 or not, Kinner N Sacchdev, Co-Founder of Knorish shares his thoughts on why creators, influencers, and businesses need to seize the opportunity and build new monetization avenues outside social media and YouTube.
 
Amid fears of an impending recession on a global scale, businesses worldwide are doubling down on reserving cash and employees are getting worried about saving their income sources. There has been an exponential rise in the number of people who are looking for a steady source of income that allows them independence from the constant worries of such gloomy situations that are looming on a global scale.

For most people showing up at work is no longer attractive while others just want to pursue something based on their interests and skills that affords them the freedom to follow their passions.

In conversation with Knorish Co-founder & CEO - Kinner N Sachdev, he shares how his startup is empowering content creators, businesses, coaches & experts to ride the creator economy wave and build a meaningful online business that helps them monetize their knowledge & skills. 

Q1) What issues have you identified to come up with this idea?

People don't just want to depend on one income source anymore. They want to build multiple streams of income that allow a safety net to fall back. But more than that, people are also looking to build something of their own that gives a sense of purpose, and mission to their lives. But opening a physical location, and growing that opportunity is usually expensive and limiting. So online is the obvious choice. But creating a digital presence where one can do this is highly complicated and cumbersome. One would need to create an entire ecosystem including a website, LMS, payment collection tools, enabling security, managing customers, growing marketing and sales, and then there’s the logistics of the daily operations of running a business.It can be done and has been done, but usually takes a lot of expertise, money and a talented team of developers and coders who can create and assimilate all these tools for you in one place. 

That’s when we realized that we needed to build something that allows content creators, coaches, experts, and businesses to be able to quickly launch their online businesses that share their knowledge & expertise without the hassle of going through that difficult journey.

Q2) Could you give us a brief explanation of how exactly Knorish solves these issues?

Knorish is that all-in-one platform that literally anyone can use to create and sell online courses and coaching programs, conduct large- scale webinars, and sell subscriptions for their online programs. Plus the biggest challenge after the tech piece of building such an ecosystem is the know-how of how to sell these programs online profitably, something that a lot of people struggle with.

Without the right guidance, it can take months & years to learn how to sell online. So we wanted to simplify that as well. From creating your website without any coding to setting up your first automated sales funnel that drives exponential website traffic & sales, Knorish’s Funnel Builder teaches our customers how to sell their courses and coaching programs with a step-by-step approach where the platform tells you what to do next to get 10, 20 even 50 times faster sales. So what used to take months is now done in just a few clicks and without the heavy investment of hiring teams of developers and coders. People from class 8th to 65+ years of age are currently using the platform to sell their courses, webinars and coaching programs.
 
Q3) How has the response been to the platform so far?

It has been a very fruitful journey. We are glad that customers are responding well to the platform. Since April 2020, more than 34,000 creators, coaches, trainers and businesses have launched their academies with Knorish. This also includes celebrities such as Sanjeev Kapoor, Shobhaa De, Shekhar Ravjiani, and Sonal Holland, amongst others with many more that are coming up. Currently, more than 1 million learners access the platform to learn skills from 47 different countries across 590 domains. So literally any topic or expertise can be shared online and monetized.

Q4) What does the future path for Knorish look like?

We want to build a complete platform that creators can use to monetize their knowledge and expertise online. Every feature that we are building is centred around helping creators scale their business while adapting to different trends simplifying the process of scaling their business. And this we want to achieve not just for creators in India but globally as well.
 
Q5) According to you, what’s next for Future content creators in India and the future of the content economy in India?

We strongly believe that online courses are the new books. Using courses and coaching programs, creators, experts, and businesses will be able to monetize their knowledge, build thought leadership, educate customers, vendors, partners, and employees plus generate tons of high-quality leads for their businesses.
 
The future of the creator economy will be the creation of digital products that will lead to exponential monetization with courses, webinars, memberships, and subscriptions. Whether you are a creator, hobbyist or chef, there is a route to wealth. You just have to think out of the box and figure out what it is.
