Partially yes, I strongly feel if a B-School wants to produce more global leaders, the school will have to focus on three things – research that addresses contemporary business issues, engagement with and relevance to industry, and encouraging students to be inquisitive and questioning of the world around them.
At a Business school, we should develop our students not just academically but also holistically. Coming to university is not only about attending lectures, reading books and passing exams. We want our students and researchers to be able to stretch themselves, and to be the very best that they can be. Our graduates should be career ready and when they leave the university and join the workforce, often global and multicultural organisations, they should be able to adapt and succeed in any competitive global environment.
Some B-Schools literally coach students to be leaders. Coaching is done by retired military personnel or business executives on topics ranging from professional conduct to integrity. Coaching also covers lessons in communication by experts in voice and theatre. Students learn story-telling and inspiring communication. They learn to speak with resonance and expressive gestures that characterise a charismatic and an empathetic leader.
Behavioural theories believe that people can become leaders through the process of teaching, learning and observation. Leadership is a set of skills that can be learned by training, perception, practice and experience over time. Good leaders seek out development opportunities that will help them learn new skills, which is only the outcome of education in respective prospective.
In my view no one is a born leader or born with any quality, everyone is like a raw mud and the porter gives the shape and make it a pot. As the same the environment like our education, friends group, family, culture and many more life experiences make the person a leader. B Schools plays a very important role in producing leaders, I would like to express my thought with the example of sword. A sword without its sharpness is not useful in battle it becomes an effective tools after going under process of sharpening, and it pays deep contribution in the victory.
In the same way without sharpening this quality it is worthless, it can be sharpen by society, family, friends etc. And the education.
