Tech giant Apple is likely to expand its investment in Vietnam, according to a media report on Tuesday.
This plan was indicated by the company’s CEO Tim Cook in a meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
Apple has also officially claimed the funds, which it aims to spend on suppliers in Vietnam, where it has created some 200,000 jobs.
Chinh also assured Cook of setting up a working group in the Southeast country, supporting Apple's investment during the meeting.
Meanwhile, the iPhone maker has not disclosed any additional information of its Vietnam investments in the country which serves its key manufacturing hub.
During his two-day trip to Vietnam, Cook will be meeting with suppliers, students, content creators, and users of Apple products.
