Arika Bansal, a pioneer in direct hair transplant, co-founded Eugenix Hair Sciences in Gurugram along with Pradeep Sethi in 2008. Like most others, this startup was bootstrapped by the founders, and as such it is debt-free. The USP of the brand has been its exceptional results – it gives you hair that looks natural and dense. 

At Eugenix, the pain and discomfort caused during and after the transplant are minimal, The company provides ethical counseling -- it also does not over promise which results in a realistic expectation by the customer.

“For us, the comfort of our patients is the most important thing and we go to lengths to ensure the convenience and ease for our patients,” says Bansal who operates a centre each in Gurugram and Mumbai at present. 

Constant innovation

In order to stay ahead of competition, Bansal plans to use the latest instruments and keep upgrading their services by incorporating the technological advancements in hair transplants. 

As part of her long-term goals, Bansal plans to take Eugenix beyond India’s shores and establish a global presence. The company plans to offer its services in Europe, Asia, Australia and the US. 

In the short term though, Eugenix plans to grow the Mumbai and Gurgaon branches while making the Gurgaon centre a local hub in hair transplant. It intends to do so by expanding infrastructure and manpower as well as improving the quality of services.

Patient satisfaction

Being a women founder, she has been lucky to have worked with like-minded visionaries as there have been no discouraging challenges in her case. Bansal says that the clinic is her second home and the employees are her family. However, what drives her the most is patient satisfaction.

She says hiring the right set of people was one of the major challenges she faced during her journey so far. But things have gotten better with time.  With time, the founders have been able to evaluate and employ potential employees with the right skillsets to drive the overall business.
