Chhattisgarh Gets Record Revenue Of Rs 12,941 Cr From Minerals In 2022-23
Chhattisgarh has earned record revenue of Rs 12,941 crore from minerals for the financial year 2022-23. This is a rise of Rs 636 crore from the previous financial year. This was stated officially by the Chhattisgarh government on Sunday.
According to a news release from the state government, Danetwada was the highest-earning district in terms of mineral revenue, while in terms of minerals Rs 3,607 crore came from iron ore and Rs 3,336 crore from coal.
"Limestone and bauxite also brought in a considerable profit. An official reported that Dantewada made the largest contribution of Rs 6419 crore, followed by Korba with Rs 2361 crore, Raigarh with Rs 1717 crore, Balod with Rs 760 crore, Baloda Bazar with Rs 315 crore, Kanker with Rs 286 crore, and Surguja with Rs 262 crore.
Anurag Diwan, Joint Director, Geology and Mining, stated: "The state government has auctioned 29 mineral blocks in Chhattisgarh on revenue sharing mode, which in the coming years will fetch the state Rs 1 lakh crore."
The state government participated in two auctions for limestone blocks and for the first time under the revenue sharing scheme was able to earn Rs 52.52 lakh.
Diwan claimed that a policy adopted by the state government in 2015–16 enabled the e-auctioning of two significant limestone blocks, Karhi Chandi in the Balodabazar–Bhatapara district and Kesla in the Raipur district.
