With Budget around the corner, BW spoke to Mr Pradeep Gupta, Executive Director, Jagson International Limited, on how the reforms initiated by the current government have benefited the O&G sector and the ground work that still needed to be covered.Hailing the ‘Make in India’ policy of the government, Mr Gupta articulated how the GST and Digital India together would boost the economy by 1-2% and will bring about major disruptions in the Indian economy in a strong way. The O&G sector runs on the same alignment as the other sectors and calls for FDI apart from GST, which would benefit the sector in terms of foreign expertise especially in deep exploration. Mr Gupta said though Government has done a lot in the field of oil and gas exploration sector, but a lot is still to be done.
