The 2021-22 General Budget meetings began on Monday, with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman starting a discussion with many budget stakeholders. In consultations between the Centre and different stakeholders, top industrialists participated in defining key areas that need to be tackled in the upcoming budget to accelerate progress. The meeting, which was attended by Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw of Biocon, Uday Kotak and Niranjan Hiranandani, among others addressed a number of economic steering issues.
