The government would have to “walk the tightrope” in this budget, given that this would be their last one before the country goes to vote again in 2019. The panel debated the relative merits and demerits of tinkering with tax rates. It seemed to concur that no big bang personal finance related measures are on the cards in the Union Budget 2018.
